Anche quest’anno i The Game Awards si sono ufficialmente conclusi, con una cerimonia che nonostante il nuovo format completamente digitale ha saputo mantenere lo spirito delle precedenti edizioni e regalare parecchie sorprese… anche se non tanto dal lato degli Award in sé.
Era abbastanza prevedibile infatti che The Last Of Us Part II si sarebbe portato a casa gran parte dei premi, con Ghost of Tsushima che riesce a strappargli solo un Best Art Direction, e Final Fantasy VII Remake che colpisce ancora una volta nel segno con la sua meravigliosa colonna sonora (oltre ad accaparrarsi il premio come Best RPG). La battaglia più interessante si è forse svolta tra gli indie, con Hades che ha strappato la corona di Best Indie a Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout (e anche un Best Action), che se ne torna comunque a casa con il premio di consolazione per il Community Support. Non mancano ovviamente tra i vincitori anche i fenomeni Among Us e Phasmophobia.
Ma tra tutto questo mai, e sottolineo mai, avrei immaginato di vedere Vin Diesel prendersela con un T-Rex nel primo trailer di Ark II. Qualcuno poteva invece aspettarsi il ritorno di Perfect Dark, ma l’annuncio di Initiative è stato comunque una fantastica sorpresa. Di certo i fan di BioWare sono quelli che escono davvero vincitori dalla serata, con ben due trailer da Dragon Age 4 e dal neo-annunciato prossimo Mass Effect.
